ALPA Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies

The ALPA Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies is a bi-annual, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the Association of Law and Political Science of Afghanistan (ALPA). The journal publishes scholarship on Afghanistan’s legal and political systems, governance, human rights, democracy, international law, peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and political theory. The journal is published in three languages: English, Dari, and Pashto. This multilingual approach ensures that research is accessible to a wider audience, including Afghan scholars and global readers, fostering international collaboration and understanding of Afghanistan's legal and political landscape.

Aim and Scope

The journal aims to provide a platform for scholarly research that explores the legal and political landscapes of Afghanistan, as well as the broader geopolitical and socio-economic contexts. It encourages discussions on political transitions, law reforms, the role of civil society, international relations, and human rights. The journal is committed to publishing rigorous academic work that advances the understanding of Afghanistan’s political and legal systems.

Open Access Policy

ALPA Journal of Law and Politics follows an open-access policy. All articles published are freely available to read and download, ensuring that knowledge is accessible to a global audience, especially researchers, academics, and practitioners working on Afghan-related issues. We believe that access to scholarly content should not be restricted by financial or geographical barriers.

Peer Review Process

All articles submitted to the journal undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Each submission is reviewed by at least two experts in the field to ensure scholarly integrity, relevance, and quality. Authors are notified of the review decision within 8 weeks of submission.

Become a Reviewer

Scholars interested in becoming peer reviewers for the journal can apply through our Reviewer Application Form. Reviewers contribute to the academic community by evaluating submissions in their areas of expertise, ensuring the publication of high-quality research. Reviewers are also acknowledged in each issue of the journal.

Article Charges

No submission or processing fees are charged to authors. All publishing costs are supported by the ALPA Journal through its funding and partnership with academic institutions and organizations.

Ethics Statement

The ALPA Journal of Law and Politics adheres to strict ethical guidelines, including a commitment to academic honesty, originality, and the prevention of plagiarism. Authors are expected to follow ethical research practices and respect the intellectual property of others. Any instances of misconduct will be dealt with in accordance with the journal's Ethical Review Committee.
